Ultra Personal™ and true SVGA resolution
Just 8.2 pounds in a very compact body, the VPL-SC50U incorporates three .9" polysilicon True SVGA LCD panels for rich, high contrast images. The VPL-SC50U incorporates the same innovative optical system employed in Sony's 600 Series LCD projectors. It consists of improved 10 x 8 element fly-eye light integrators, a precision prism block, polarizing plates, a short arc 120W UHP lamp, and a high performance zoom lens. This optical system produces 500 ANSI lumens of light output for bright and clear images even in environments with ambient light. It yields excellent uniformity performance with very little image degradation in the form of hot spots and brightness and color shading in the corners of the image.

Magnesium diecast body with built in carry handle
Magnesium is metal, and it is unique. It is extremely light weight and yet it is simultaneously extremely tough and durable. As an added benefit, Magnesium also has natural heat dissipation properties which helps prevent heat build up in the projector. Distinguishing the VPL-SC50U even further as an Ultra Personal projector, it comes with a built in carry handle for extra convenience.22 preset data memories allows the VPL-SC50U to be set up quickly. Simply connect a compatible signal with the supplied cable and an optimum picture will be displayed without the need for a lot of complicated set up.

Compatible with a wide range of sources
The VPL-SC50U accepts Composite Video, S Video, Component Video, RGB Video, VGA, SVGA, XGA, and Macintosh 16" mode signals. Full function wireless remote commander unit the RMPJM600 a standard feature with the VPL-SC50U, the RM-PJM600 is an ergonomically designed remote control for the projector. It is also a presentation control that can be used to operate the mouse of a connected computer. It also has a laser pointer built in. The VPL-SC50U has two speakers which provide a wide range, dynamic stereo sound to support presentations. The VPL-SC50U comes with a quick adjustment drop down front foot. This allows the height of the image to be adjusted quickly and easily and simultaneously provides support for the projector. To protect the investment in the VPL-SC50U there is a built in lens shutter and the VPL-SC50U is compatible with security cables from the Kensington Company.

The user menu is available in seven languages: English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Japanese and Chinese. Dual actuated pixels Provides an extra measure of reliability. Two TFT switches per pixel dramatically reduces blemishes and dead pixels.
